Terms of use

These Terms govern the use of k4tron, a subscription-based coding assistant operated by VORTEX TECNOLOGIA E SOLUÇÕES DIGITAIS LTDA (“VORTEX”, “we”), headquartered in São Paulo/SP, Brazil. Contact: support@k4tron.com.

By creating an account or using the service, you confirm that you have read and accepted these Terms. The accepted version — with date, time and IP address — is recorded on your account.

1. The service

k4tron is a code agent that operates inside your development environment (VS Code extension and command-line interface). The content you submit — instructions, code snippets, project files — is processed by third-party artificial-intelligence models to generate responses.

The service is provided “as is”. We work to keep it available and correct, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted operation or absence of errors.

2. Account and eligibility

  • To subscribe to a paid plan you must be 18 years old or have full legal capacity. Use by a minor requires the assistance of a legal guardian, who is responsible for accepting these Terms.
  • Accounts are created with Google sign-in or with e-mail and password. You are responsible for keeping your credentials — including device connection codes — secure, and for all activity performed with them.
  • An account is personal and non-transferable. Reselling or sharing access is not permitted.

3. Plans, credits and payment

  • Usage is measured in credits, the platform’s internal currency. Each plan grants an amount of credits per monthly cycle.
  • Credits do not accumulate: they renew every cycle and unused credits expire at renewal. Credits have no monetary value and are not refundable or transferable.
  • New accounts receive a free trial plan, granted once, with a limited amount of credits.
  • Payments are processed by a certified payment processor; we do not store card data. Prices are displayed in US dollars (USD) with a Brazilian real (BRL) option depending on your location.
  • Subscriptions renew automatically every cycle until you cancel.
  • Upgrades take effect immediately, with prorated charging of the difference. Downgrades are scheduled for the next cycle.
  • If a renewal payment fails, access may be suspended until payment is resolved.

4. Cancellation and refunds

  • You may cancel at any time. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the paid cycle — until then, the plan and its credits remain available.
  • Under article 49 of the Brazilian Consumer Protection Code, you may withdraw from the purchase within 7 (seven) calendar days of the first payment, with a full refund. Just write to support@k4tron.com.
  • Outside the legal withdrawal period, amounts already paid are not refunded, without prejudice to rights the law grants you.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to use k4tron to:

  • engage in illegal activity, or create content that violates third-party rights;
  • attempt to circumvent technical limits, credit metering or the platform’s security mechanisms;
  • resell, sublicense or offer the service to third parties as your own;
  • deliberately overload the infrastructure.

We may suspend or terminate accounts involved in violations of these Terms, fraud or non-payment, with notice where applicable.

6. Your content and generated code

  • What you submit to k4tron remains yours. We claim no ownership over your code or your instructions.
  • Code and text generated by the assistant on your account belong to you, to the extent permitted by law.
  • AI-generated content may contain errors and may not fit your purpose. Reviewing, testing and validating any output before using it — especially in production — is your responsibility.

7. Platform intellectual property

The k4tron software, brand and visual identity belong to VORTEX. These Terms transfer no rights over them beyond a personal, revocable, non-exclusive license to use the service while your account is active.

8. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, VORTEX’s total liability for damages related to the service is limited to the amount you paid in the 12 (twelve) months preceding the event. We are not liable for lost profits or indirect damages arising from the use of generated content. Nothing in these Terms waives rights guaranteed to you by consumer-protection law.

9. Privacy

How we handle your personal data is described in our Privacy policy, which is part of these Terms.

10. Changes

We may revise these Terms. Each version has its own identifier (shown at the top of this page); relevant changes will be communicated, and continued use after a new version takes effect constitutes acceptance, recorded on your account.

11. Governing law and venue

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Federative Republic of Brazil. The courts of São Paulo/SP are elected as venue, preserving the consumer’s right to litigate in the venue of their own domicile.
