Troubleshooting

The connection doesn’t work

  • Make sure the code was generated for this device — each device uses its own k4t_… code.
  • Generate a new code at app.k4tron.com/connect and try pasting it again.
  • If the code expired or was revoked, generate a new one. Old codes are not reused.

The k4tron command is not found

  • Make sure Node.js 20 or newer is installed: node --version.
  • If you installed globally, close and reopen the terminal so the PATH is reloaded.
  • Alternative without installing: run npx k4tron in the project folder.

The extension doesn’t appear in VS Code

  • Make sure your VS Code version is 1.85 or newer.
  • Reinstall from the terminal: code --install-extension K4tron.k4tron-coder.
  • Reload the VS Code window after installing.

Credits don’t appear

  • Check your account with /account in the CLI or in your account at app.k4tron.com.
  • New accounts receive trial credits on creation — if you just created the account, wait a few moments and reconnect the device.

The session doesn’t resume

  • Sessions are tied to the workspace: resume from inside the same project folder.
  • Use /sessions to list and pick an existing session.
  • Shared sessions appear in both clients — if they don’t, make sure both are connected to the same account.
